Your team helps to set up a good compensation strategy and is very valuable for the company and all of your colleagues. The sales incentive plans that your team creates with your help are a very critical tool for the Go-To-Market strategies, and will of course reward and motivate your sales colleagues.

The role of Sales Operations Analyst

This is a multifaceted position that requires a combination of analytical, strategic, and communication skills. So, what will you be doing?

  • Analytics: with your analytical skills you will provide critical performance reporting and sales insights to key stakeholders. For example the IT team or architects that need your insights to implement the ideas you come up with. How? Utilize data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in the sales strategies using the largest databases you’ve ever seen and use your SQL skills to get the date you need.
  • Growth: a big thing within this company is the growth mindset. Continually improve and automate current sales compensation processes and assist in the changes in this strategy with the business goals in the back of your head. We don’t want the sales team to be less motivated, do we? 😉
  • Strategy: collaborate with sales leadership to set performance targets for sales teams. Based on your analytical insights you can recommend actions for improvement based on data, which we all know is power. If during your analyses you come up with new ideas on how to optimize the overall efficiency in the operational teams then your ideas are also very much welcome!
  • Systems: your new employer works with the newest tooling and has huge databases, so it is safe to say that this is tech heaven for you! In this role you’ll work together with the IT Engineering teams en system architects to make sure that all the ideas are well implemented. For example a new cloud-bases sales compensation platform that they’re working with called Xactly.

In this role there is much room to develop yourself and grow into the role because your new employer believes in development and wants to guide you in the right direction. What we need from you as the new Sales Operations Analyst:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Analytics, preferably in a Sales environment: compensations, pricing or operations analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree in for example Economics, Business, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting
  • Tool experience: Google Sheets, Excel, SQL, Hive, Salesforce, Xactly
  • Analytical & data-driven mindset and not afraid to use it!
  • Strong quantitative skills, attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to positively and effectively connect with internal partners a.k.a. stakeholder management!
  • A track record of sophisticated problem solving and an ability to deliver consistently;
  • Background in Sales analytics is preferable, working with compensation methods and KPI’s
